There has been a fascination with Birds of Prey for centuries. The ancient art of falconry is practised within many cultures and many walks of life and for many, like myself, is a way of life !

Hawksflight Falconry’s informative and educational experiences are centred around conservation. Our aim is to educate all ages into the beauty and magnificence of these raptors and Owls with a hands on and practical approach through a variety of illustrated talks and experiences.

Hawksflight’s friendly and knowledgeable staff welcome you to the centre and their passion for the Birds of Prey and Owls is evident as they guide you through the secret world of the silent hunters, the predators of the air !

Hawks Walk

See the world through a Hawks eyes and take a walk with a Hawk through the beautiful Staffordshire countryside.

A Hawk Walk is a perfect taster for the falconry experience. On arrival you will be met by the falconer and introduced to the Harris Hawks. A falconers glove will be given to you for your use during the walk and you will be instructed on how to safely handle the hawks.

The walk itself lasts about an hour and covers some easy ground over farmland, through fields and woods with a few gates and stiles along the way. As the hawks follow on through the trees you’ll get to call them down to your gloved fist for a titbit. Feel that adrenalin rush as they glide down towards you and gently alight onto your glove. A truly unique hands on experience.

Birds of Prey Experiences

A more indepth look at how we work at the centre with a maximum of eight  guests.

Learn about the Birds of Prey and Owls we have at the centre and their management.

Topics covered will include husbandry, housing, diet and food preparation, weight control, training, falconry equipment and telemetry. You will be shown how to tie the falconers knot and handle the birds safely.
