We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to the beautiful Burton Washlands for our 2023 Burton Regatta and Burton Sprint.

Burton Regatta, first held in 1865, is one of the oldest annual sporting events in the country and is nationally recognised as one of the finest remaining river regattas.

The traditional and highly competitive “Oxford v Cambridge” two abreast type boat racing runs throughout the two day event, with competitors and supporters enjoying the beautiful River Trent running through Burton upon Trent’s unspoilt Regatta Meadows.

Saturday offers a course length of 1100 metres racing from the Leicester Line railway bridge to a point some 100 metres upstream of the Ferry footbridge.

Crews return to Burton Sprint the following day, for an exciting short distance event racing over 600 metres.  The Sprint is held on the finishing straight of the Burton Regatta course, with crews racing past the Regatta Enclosure to the cheers of their supporters.

On the river bank visitors will find a wide range of traditional and contemporary refreshments and family entertainment.
