The National Forest Walking Festival – Walk 58. An Ancient Wood in the National Forest

A walk through the only bit of ancient woodland in Burton. Up a steep hill which can be slippery if wet. On the other side of the hill is scrubland / pasture & excellent views of the area.

The walk is free but please feel free to make a donation to The Friends of Scalpcliffe Woods.

Distance:                            1.5 miles, 1.5 hours, 0 stiles

Starting Point:                  The entrance is next to Rider House, Stapenhill Road, Burton on

Trent Nearest postcode is DE15 9AE. Car parking available for the duration of the walk and is at the end of the gated entrance. The gate will be opened by the walk leader and locked during the walk.
