Farm on the Hill | Campsite

Staying at the Farm

There is accommodation to suit everyone at Manor House Farm, the home of our Farm on the Hill campsite.
Alongside the campsite itself, which is set across 24 acres of woodland and meadow, you will also find an award winning bed and breakfast as well as a self catering cottage down at the main farm.
Planning a family getaway but some people would prefer to camp and some would prefer the comfort of a B and B ? Manor House Farm is the perfect place to accommodate your needs, within easy access of each other by foot or car, you can now create the perfect getaway where absolutely everyone is happy, and grandma doesn’t get a bad back instead she gets to sleep in an antique four poster bed.

Campfire Camping

Farm on the Hill eco-campsite is set within 24 acres of woodland and meadow on the edge of the rural hamlet of Prestwood on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border.

With a mix of pitches ranging from private two person spaces set within their own woodland clearing to larger spaces perfect for family groups and friends, you’ll find Farm on the Hill to be the perfect place from which to explore the surrounding countryside and visitor attractions.

It is also the perfect place to get your cooking pot over the fire and relax with a book (a good supply can be found on our book-swap shelves), or perhaps set up one of our easels and get creative.

Meadow and woodland camping pitches

These pitches have a really special feel to them. Surrounded by young trees, wildflowers and grasses, there is such a feeling of life.
Small, mown clearings are scattered around the woodland and meadow, complete with picnic tables and stone fire circles, creating some truly beautiful and private spaces .

The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden is a private camping pitch  surrounded by tall hedges and trees. It is located close to the campsite entrance with the woodland behind.

There is a large stone fire pit perfect for sitting around with friends and family and enjoying a relaxing night under the stars. After having watched the sunset of course…. this pitch has one of the best sunset views onsite.

Family Camping

A new space just for families, a family field with six well spread out pitches and loads of space that we let out to families only. It’s on the far side of site, away from the main camping area, so nice and quiet and comes with stunning views over the Weaver Hills.

The sunsets from here are so beautiful, my new favourite part of the campsite

Each pitch can accommodate multiple tents so this area works well for both individual families as well as groups of families.

Campervans

Although mainly a tent site, we do have some pitches that are accessible to camper vans (of a VW size). These pitches also come with stone firepits.

All camping pitches have shared use of facilities, which include:

  • Compost long-drop toilets
  • Gas powered showers
  • Cold water washing up sinks
  • Drinking water taps
  • Small onsite book library
  • Handouts of local walks and bike route available
  • Cycle hire
  • Onsite bike mechanic
  • Easels and drawing materials available if requested in advance
  • Firewood available
