The National Memorial Arboretum has something for all ages this half term, from arts and crafts and interactive storytelling sessions to outdoor trails in our spring woodland.

Animals in Remembrance: Craft Sessions

12pm – 3pm | 17 – 21 February 2025

During the free arts and crafts sessions, families are welcome to create a range of animals from provided materials, as well as their own purple poppies, a symbol of Remembrance for animals that have died in service, to wear around site as they complete the Animals in Remembrance Outdoor Trail.

Interactive Storytelling
Free
11.30am, 12pm, 12.30pm, 1pm, 2pm & 2.30pm | 17 – 21 February 2025

Special interactive storytelling workshops will be a whole lot of fun. The story for this half term is: Arbie and the Magical Lights. Arbie is a young fluffy owl who lives in a really special place. Join Arbie as he questions why light is so magical – after all, he can already see in the dark!
Skilled storytellers will guide young visitors through the stories to bring them to life in a unique way and all they need is to bring along their imagination.
Advance booking is required for these sessions.

Animals In Remembrance Outdoor Trail
£2.50 per person
10am – 4pm | 15 – 23 February 2025

Pick up a trail sheet from the welcome desk, wrap up warm and head out around site to find Animals in Remembrance and their stories. On this trail you will discover mascots, mythical creatures and real stories of animals that served in the Armed Forces.
Once you have completed the trail young visitors can return to the Remembrance Centre for a special treat.

Stick Man Outdoor Trail
Free
10am – 4pm | Daily throughout 2025

Youngest visitors will enjoy joining Stick Man on his journey back to the family tree. You can pick up a free copy of the self-led trail from the Welcome Desk. It is recommended that families wishing to try the trail wear appropriate footwear and clothing. The route may be unsuitable for some pushchairs.
