East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced that the National Forest Adventure Farm is the first local business to secure support from its new Tourism Development Fund which was launched earlier this year.

The popular Burton upon Trent attraction received support to help fund the development of ‘Area 52’ an all new attraction at its annual Screamfest event.

Area 52 is the ultimate alien shooting tractor trailer ride experience, which features state of the art paintball blasters and is one of two new attractions for this year’s event.

Tom Robinson from The National Forest Adventure Farm said: “We’re delighted to be the first attraction to receive a tourism grant from East Staffordshire Borough Council. The funding has helped us develop ‘Area 52’, a new attraction for our popular annual Screamfest event, which will help us to increase capacity and attract even more visitors into the borough.”

Cllr Paul Walker, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said: “I’m glad to see the Council’s Tourism Development Fund being put to good use, supporting a local organisation in expanding their Halloween offering and attracting even more visitors to the Borough. There’s still plenty of funding available, so I encourage all eligible businesses to apply.”
