As part of Burton Cultural Celebration, Burton History Tours invites you to discover the town’s fascinating past on A Brief History of Burton, a guided 3.5-mile walk through the heart of Burton upon Trent.

Over approximately two hours, you’ll follow in the footsteps of Burtonians through the centuries. From the arrival of Saint Modwen and the founding of the medieval abbey to Burton’s world-famous brewing heritage, and more recent visits by L.S. Lowry and the Sex Pistols, this engaging tour brings the town’s remarkable story to life.

Blending Burton’s historic streets with green spaces, the walk offers a fresh perspective on the people, places and events that have shaped the town. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or visiting for the first time, you’re sure to see Burton in a whole new way.
