The Brewhouse Arts Centre has today announced plans to support the live music scene in Burton upon Trent by helping a newly formed music collective to deliver a series of grass roots live gigs this autumn.

Burton upon Trent has a rich history of live music, from the 76 Club to The Refinery, The Telescopes, The Leisure Society and Riding The Low, through to vibrant metal, folk and jazz traditions, the town has an amazing musical heritage.

The first step of this new initiative will see The Brewhouse support Burton Music Collective to deliver a multi-venue celebration of live gigs this November.

Local musicians, bands, solo artists, DJs, MCs, promoters, pubs, clubs, cafes or anyone with a great idea to bring live music to Burton in November can now apply for a £700 grant to make these gigs happen.

Plus, the support to selected acts will extend to marketing and promotional support from Burton Music Collective and their network of national music industry professionals.

Applications are now open for ambitious ideas. It might be a night of experimental electronica in an industrial space, heavy dub in a pub back room, twisted anti-folk in Burton Library or emerging indie bands in a working men’s club. The only limit is your imagination.
